Prof Richard Tol is a Professor at the Department of Economics, University of Sussex and the Professor of the Economics of Climate Change, Institute for Environmental Studies and Department of Spatial Economics, Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam, the Netherlands. He is a member of the Academia Europaea.

ISETS, in partnership with the Energy Division of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), is organising the Inaugural ISETS International Conference on 14-19 October 2023 at the United Nations Conference Center, Bangkok. The Conference will be followed by the Third Asia Pacific Energy (Ministerial) Forum on 18-20 October 2023 and together they form key parts of the Asia Pacific Energy Week. The key findings and recommendations from the ISETS conference are expected to be channelled to the subsequent ministerial forum.
