ACETF Managing Committee

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Managing Committee is responsible for the overall management and administration of the ACETF, ensuring that its vision and goals are achieved effectively. The Managing Committee will:

• Develop the strategic direction, goals, and objectives of the ACETF;
• Oversee the implementation of the Forum and its associated activities;
• Ensure the transparency, accountability, and integrity of the Forum and its associated activities;
• Engage and collaborate with stakeholders, including government agencies, industry, academia, media and the public;
• Evaluate the effectiveness and impact of the Forum and its associated activities.

Composition:

The Managing Committee will be composed of representatives from all the initiators. Other members may be added subject to the Committee’s decision.

A representative from the host of the immediate past and forthcoming Forum may be appointed if they do not have representatives.

The Committee will elect at least one Chair and at least one Deputy Chair. The Chair presides over meetings, ensuring that the agenda is followed, and all members have a chance to participate. Deputy Chair assists the Chair in carrying out their responsibilities and presides over meetings in the absence of the Chair.

Meetings

The Managing Committee will meet at least once a year, either in person or virtually, to discuss the progress and direction of the ACETF.

Additional meetings may be called by the Chair or at the request of any member of the Management Committee.

Meetings will be held in English.

Decision-making

Quorum: At least half of the committee members present to consider a valid committee meeting. Otherwise, the Chair will postpone the meeting.

Decisions of the Managing Committee will be made by consensus, with each member having an equal voice.

If consensus cannot be reached, a vote may be taken with a simple majority required for a decision to be made.

Transparency and Accountability

The Managing Committee will ensure that all decisions and actions are transparent and accountable.

Minutes of meetings will be recorded and made available to all committee members.

Conflict of Interest

Members of the Managing Committee will disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest in relation to the ACETF.

Where a conflict of interest arises, the member concerned will be excluded from the relevant discussion and decision-making process.

Management Committee Members

ACETF Advisory Committee

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Advisory Committee provides advice, guidance, and support to the Managing Committee in achieving the goals and objectives of the ACETF.

The Advisory Committee will:

• Provide expert advice and guidance on the strategic direction, goals, and objectives of the ACETF;
• Review and provide feedback on the implementation of the Forum and its associated activities;
• Identify emerging issues and trends in the field of energy and climate change and provide recommendations to the Managing Committee;
• Facilitate knowledge exchange and collaboration among stakeholders, including government agencies, industry, academia, media and the public;
• Advise on the evaluation and improvement of the effectiveness and impact of the Forum and its associated activities;
• Provide recommendations for the sustainability and continuity of the ACETF.

Composition:

The Advisory Committee will be composed of experts and practitioners from both Australia and China, and will include representatives from the key sectors that the Forum intends to engage.

The Advisors will be nominated by any member of the Management Committee and will be appointed by the Management Committee.
