ISETS Energy Finance Network (ISETS EFN, referred to as “the Network” hereinafter) is the first specialized division of ISETS. It was initiated by Dr. Qiang Ji (Chinese Academy of Sciences) and Dr. Dayong Zhang (Southwestern University of Finance and Economics) in 2017. The Network was originally known as the China Energy Finance Network (CEFN), and its aim was to establish an international platform for Chinese scholars to work together and promote the development of energy finance. CEFN is one of the three ISETS funding institutional members.

The Network is a decentralized system formed around a small number of active core teams, and we encourage people from different backgrounds all over the world to participate. We organize workshops, forums, and conferences to facilitate intellectual communication and deeper collaboration. Our objectives are to deliver joint academic research to address urgent issues on climate finance, energy transition, and energy markets. We are also actively involved in policy and practical issues of the energy industry by providing solutions and guidance on forecasting, risk management, financing, and investment.
