Energy For Sustainable Development (SCIE, JCR Q2): “Electric Mobility in Developing Countries: Feasibility, Challenges and Sustainability”. Call for papers – Energy for Sustainable Development | ScienceDirect.com by Elsevier
For developing countries to promote electric mobility, substantial challenges emerge in terms of affordability, potential for emissions reduction, charging infrastructure, electric vehicle and battery supply chain network, business model and ecosystem, integration with renewable energy, and waste battery management and recycling. In addition, urban-rural disparities in adoption and infrastructure deployment, and local capacity to manage the systems could aggravate concerns regarding a just transition. In addressing these challenges, it is essential to ensure the sustainability of both electric mobility and its related supply chains. Options to ensure the motto of ‘leaving no one behind’ are essential to explore as well. This special issue aims at delivering insights into these issues and identifying feasible solutions as well as policy recommendations, focusing on the electrification of the road transport system of developing countries.
