ISETS Member Benefits

ISETS offers four membership categories designed to support inclusive participation and strategic engagement in the global energy transition. Each membership category carries specific benefits and responsibilities.


1. Associate Members (Complimentary – Individuals)

Automatically granted upon registration.

Benefits:

  • Participation in ISETS activities (conferences, workshops, public dialogues, etc.)

  • Access to ISETS publications, including working papers, policy briefs, commentaries, and newsletters

  • Opportunity to submit contributions to ISETS publications (subject to editorial review)

  • Participation in research and paper development workshops

  • Invitations to selected collaborative initiatives and public consultations

Limitations:

  • Not eligible to vote at AGMs

  • Not eligible to vote in or stand for election to the Council or Committee


2. Ordinary Members 

Open to individuals who support ISETS’s sustainability through paid membership. Concession rates are available for individuals from Least Developed Countries (LDCs).

Benefits:

  • All benefits of Associate Membership

  • Voting rights at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on matters related to:

    • Management

    • Finances

    • Society development and operations

Limitations:

  • Not eligible to vote on constitutional changes

  • Not eligible to vote in or stand for election to the Council or Committee


3. Delegate Members (Nominated – Individuals)

Awarded to individuals who have made substantial voluntary contributions to ISETS. Delegate status is granted by the Delegate Confirmation Committee through a formal nomination process.

Benefits:

  • All benefits of Ordinary Membership

  • Exclusive rights to vote on constitutional changes

  • Exclusive rights to vote in and stand for election to the ISETS Council and Committee

  • Recognised leadership role within the ISETS governance community


4. Institutional Members (Organisations – Fee-Paying)

Open to academic institutions, non-profits, government agencies, and private sector organisations.

Benefits:

  • Entitled to nominate up to three representatives to attend ISETS events and activities

  • Opportunity to act as co-organiser of ISETS events and co-publisher of selected outputs (subject to separate agreements)

  • Access to ISETS’s expert network and opportunity to request:

    • Customised briefings

    • Training programmes

    • Research collaborations (subject to agreement)

  • Recognition as an Institutional Sponsor, with logo placement on:

    • ISETS event materials

    • Outreach and promotional content

  • Eligibility to become a Strategic Partner, engaging in long-term cooperation in:

    • Research

    • Policy engagement

    • Education and knowledge-sharing initiatives
